Hi May.

I am so glad I have found this website I know who I will be coming to for a wedding cake in a couple of years time.

I enjoy baking as it frees me from the stresses of my office job in sales. You can dream a little when you are decorating your cakes and let your creative mind wonder. My boyfriend says he often see’s me smiling to myself on a Sunday afternoon when I am baking my cakes. My 9-5 job pays the bills but my hobby of baking fulfills my emotional needs. That one day a week I am doing something I enjoy without having to worry about sales targets this and sales meetings that etc. I am not in a position to start my own business but am happy enough baking cupcakes for friends and family as gifts to brighten up their day. Thank you for brightening up my afternoon with your lovely blog. I will be brightening up my boyfriends and families weekend with your lovely recipes. Well done on your success you well and truly deserve it x

I just adore the subtlety and delicate beauty of your work! I’ve seen some fairly gairish other cakes and they just look like “ugly sisters” to your “Cinderella at the ball” cakes!
I am only at the very beginning stage of cake decorating – I’d love nothing better than to be in a position, one day, to open a couture cake design shop.

You are a true inspiration, May! Many thanks for producing such gorgeous books & cakes.

Hi May and also hi to everyone especially Kathryn and Anita,
I just wanted to add my very sincere thanks and congratulations to Maisie Fantaisie for being so successful, so brilliant and such an inspiration to so many people, including myself. I’m very much like Kathryn and Anita in that I have been baking for many years, but have spent the last 2 years trying to get my cake decorating business off the ground, while also bringing up 3 children and working a 30 hour a week job!!
I do waste so much time looking for inspiration, designing my cakes, making them, sometimes I drive my family mad with it all…. but it is my dream to have a successful business and one day open my own shop. One day!

Your words are very inspiring!! I have wanted to set up my own business for ages but what with financial commitments i.e. a mortgage it never materialised however after doing my best friends wedding cake in December she told me to go for it. It is hard work and promoting is my downfall as I still work full time in London! I do one farmers market a month to try and promote myself and I have advertised at a few schools etc….can you recommend any other way? Your cakes are fantastic and apart from doing a course last year I am pretty much self taught and follow and constantly read books!! Anita x
